How to Perform Eid Salah – Step by Step<\/h2>\n

Preparing for Eid Salah:<\/h3>\n
    \n
  1. Bathe and Dress Well<\/strong>:\n
      \n
    • Rise early on the morning of Eid and bathe yourself.<\/li>\n
    • Brush your teeth, wash your body, and put on perfume.<\/li>\n
    • Wear your finest clothes, preferably new or special occasion attire.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
    • Eat Dates<\/strong>:\n
        \n
      • Before heading to the\u00a0Eid ul-Fitr<\/strong>\u00a0prayer, eat an odd number of dates.<\/li>\n
      • However, for\u00a0Eid ul-Adha<\/strong>, wait until after the prayer to break your fast.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
      • Recite the Takbir<\/strong>:\n
          \n
        • As you make your way to the prayer location, recite the distinct Takbir for Eid:\n
            \n
          • \u201cAllahu akbar, Allahu akbar, La ilaha illallah, Wallahu akbar, Allahu akbar wa lillahil hamd.\u201d<\/li>\n
          • This means \u201cAllah is the greatest, there is no god but Allah. And Allah is the greatest, to Allah belongs all praise.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            The First Rak\u2019ah:<\/h3>\n
              \n
            1. Set Your Intention<\/strong>:\n
                \n
              • Internally, intend to pray the Sunnah prayer of Eid al-Fitr or Eid al-Adha (2 rak\u2019ahs) for Allah.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
              • Follow the Imam<\/strong>:\n
                  \n
                • Give the opening\u00a0Takbeer<\/strong>\u00a0(\u201cAllahu Akbar\u201d) with the imam.<\/li>\n
                • Say the opening supplication quietly to yourself.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
                • Perform the Takbirs<\/strong>:\n
                    \n
                  • Give 3 more Takbirs with the imam, raising your hands for each.<\/li>\n
                  • Listen to the imam recite\u00a0Surah al-Fatihah<\/strong>\u00a0and an additional Surah.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                    The Second Rak\u2019ah:<\/h3>\n
                      \n
                    1. Continue Listening<\/strong>:\n
                        \n
                      • In the second rak\u2019ah, listen to the imam recite\u00a0Surah al-Fatihah<\/strong>\u00a0and another Surah.<\/li>\n
                      • Recite the Takbirs and perform the\u00a0Tashahhud<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
                      • Complete 2 More Sujuds<\/strong>:\n

                        • Finish the prayer by performing 2 more prostrations (Sujuds).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                          After Eid Salah:<\/h3>\n
                            \n
                          1. Listen to the Khutbah<\/strong>:\n
                              \n
                            • Pay attention to the sermon (Khutbah) delivered by the imam.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
                            • Greet Your Family and Friends<\/strong>:\n
                                \n
                              • After the prayer, greet your loved ones and fellow worshippers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
                              • Take a Different Route Home<\/strong>:\n
                                  \n
                                • Consider taking an alternate path back home after the second rak\u2019ah.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
