The Arabic Language
كان السيد وليم ستانلي يفكر في العمل في البلاد العربية ولذلك فقد درس اللغة العربية لمدة عام في بلاده
وعند وصوله الى دولة الامارات العربية المتحدة للعمل في شركة بترول أبو ظبي لم يجد صعوبة في أن يكتب بطاقة الوصول باللغة العربية وكذلك لم يجد صعوبة في ان يقرأ العناوين البارزة في الجرائد العربية وأن يقرأ أسماء الشوارع و أرقام الحافلات و قوائم الأسعار في الفنادق وفي مكاتب العلاقات العامة بالشركة يكتب السيد / وليم ستانلي بطاقة الاقامة بالعمل باللغة العربية
Mr. William Stainly was thinking to work in Arab Countries; therefore he studied Arabic Language for a year in his country.
At arriving to the United Arab Emirates to work in Abu Dhabi Petroleum Company, he finds no difficulty at filling the arrival card by Arabic Language as well as reading all the headlines in Arabic Journals, the names of the streets, buses numbers, prices lists in the hotels, in the public relation office in the company and to write his name Mr. William stainly in the residence permit in the work in Arabic.

The Public Relations Manager: You write Arabic
السيد وليم : نعم هذا ليس أمراً غربيا . اللغة العربية أصبحت لغةَ عالمية
Mr. William: yes, it is not odd. The Arabic Language becomes international language.
مدير العلاقات :صحيح انها الان احدى اللغات الرسمية للأمم المتحدة .
The Public Relations Manager: right. It is now one of the official languages in the United Nations.
السيد وليم : هل تعلم أن عددا كبيرا يتعلم اللغة العربية الآن في بلادنا ؟
Mr. Willaim: do you know that a greet numbers of people now learn Arabic in our country.
مدير العلاقات: ولماذا يتعلمونها؟
The Public Relations Manager: and why they learn it?
ناس يتعلمونها للتجارة
Mr. William: some people are learning for trade.
وناس يتعلمونها للسياسة
Some people for policy
وناس يتعلمونها للسياحة
Some for people tourism
وناس يتعمونها للعمل
Some people for work
وناس يتعلمونها للدراسة
And others for studying.
مدير العلاقات: أنت طبعا تعلم أن اللغة العربية لغة دين لأكثر من مليار مسلم ومسلمة يعيشون خارج الوطن العربي وداخله يقرأون القرآن بها ويصلون بها ويدعون بها للصلاة .
The Public Relations Manager: you surely know that Arabic Language is the language of the religion for more than One billion Muslims inside and outside the Arab region, and they read Qua’rn, pray with it.
السيد وليم : ألاحظ أن الناس يفهمون كلامي و أنا لا أفهم كلامهم بسهولة
Mr. Willaim: I notice that people understand my talking but I do not understand them easily.
مدير العلاقات: أنت تعلمت اللغة العربية الفصحى الصحيحة والناس يفهمونها وهي لغة ذات حضارة قديمة تاريخها أكثر من 1700 سنة ويستخدمها العرب في التعليم وفي الأدب وفي الصحافة وفي الاذاعة و في المراسلات الرسمية وفي كل الميادين الثقافية الهامة
The Public Relations Manager: you have learnt the correct classical Arabic which people understand because it’s a language of ancient civilization with more than 1600 year and the Arab used in learning, literature, journalism and broadcast, official correspondences and in all cultural fields.
السيد وليم : وما اللغة التي يتكلمها الناس؟
Mr. William: and what is the language that people talk by?
مدير العلاقات: هي العربية العامية .
The Public Relations Manager: colloquial Arabic
السيد وليم : هذا صعب على الأجنبي الذي يريد أن يتعلم اللغة العربية
Mr. William: this is difficult for foreigner who wants to learn Arabic
مدير العلاقات : هذا صحيح في الوقت الحاضر بكل أسف ولكن انتشار التعليم في الوطن العربي سيؤدي الى زوال العامية وأنتشار الفصحى بإذن الله
The Public Relations Manager: unfortunately, that is correct in the current time, but the spread of learning in the Arab Region shall lead to the disappearance of colloquial language and the spread of classical language, Allah willing.
السيد وليم : هذا سيكون أسعد يوم للمتعلم الآجنبي
Mr. William: that is will be the happiest day for foreigner who learned classical Arabic.
